Essay 1-02a University life

Almost university students spent a good university life. However, nobody is spending the same life. So I will write about the university life from three viewpoints. The viewpoints are way of coming to school, lunch and majoring subject. I thought these differences are large, so I decided these viewpoints.


First, I will write about the way of coming to school. University students are coming to their university from each area. I live in near Hikarinomori where is little far from KGU. So, I usually go to school by train and on foot. I get on a train at Hikarinomori station and get off at Suizenji station. Then, I walk to KGU from Suizenji station. Sometimes, I go to school by car. In KGU, many students go by car. Because the students live place where is far from KGU but there are no station in their town. So, the way is only in coming by car for them. And, almost students who live in near KGU come to school on foot or by bicycle. They may not be bound to time. Students who come to school by train and bus are decided by time of arrival so I envy them.


Second, I will write about lunch. I usually bring my box lunch which is made my mother. But I sometimes eat lunch in students’ cafeteria or bakery. Many people eat lunch in there, because it is cheap and delicious there. Other people buy ready meal at convenience store but it is little cheaper. So, I almost never eat it. Lunch also has the difference considerably each student.


Finally, I will write about majoring subject. I am majoring English. I study English and about foreign countries every day. I am belonging to the department of foreign language. So I sometimes take same class with the department of East Asia. But they do not majoring English. They study Chinese and Korean. KGU have many departments. For example, KGU have the department of economy and commercial science. And, they majoring each subject. Even if going to the same university, the students are majoring different subject.


According to these, a lot of students have a good time own university life. I think that university life is important for us. Because we can experience a lot of things, we should challenge a lot of things. But university life is different from other students as to how to enjoy. So I think we should enjoy our university life by each way.

Foreign countries

I have a lot of country where I want to go.

For example, I want to go to Singepore because I often heard that Singapore is very beautiful.

And I studied German last year, so I also want to go Germany.

But I want to go the best, New Zealand. I am going to go to there in August. I felt happy but I worrying recentry. Because I do not know that I really go. Now, swine flu spread all over the world. I really want to go.

BR 1-07 Mr. Putter & Tabby Pour the Tea

I read “Mr. Putter & Tabby Pour the Tea” this week. This book cover cat’s behind is cute so I chose it.

In summary this book, Mr. Putter lived all alone, so he wished for some company. He wanted a cat, so he went to the pet store. But there is no cat he wants. Then, he went to the shelter next. There are a fat gray cat, a thin black cat and an old yellow cat. An old yellow cat’s bones creaked, its fur was thinning, and it seemed a little deaf. Mr. Putter creaked, his hair was thinning, and he was a little deaf, too. So he took the old yellow cat home. He named her Tabby. Tabby could not remember life without Mr. Putter afterward. They enjoyed the most perfect company of all each other.

I think that their chemistry is wonderful. I want to have good chemistry with my friends or creatures like them.

BR 1-06 Beyond Strange Street

I read “Beyond Strange Street” last week. This book cover is little mysterious and interested in the words that “WILD WOODS Enter if you Dare!”, so I choose it.

In summary this book, Sam lay in bed with her fingers in her ears because noises coming from the room next door. So she got out of bed and let herself out of the flat. In the empty lift, she looked closer at the button “W.W” and Sam thought “Here goes!” She pressed the button. Up went the lift! The doors opened and Sam got a shock because there is not Strange Street. There is “Wild Woods” Sam was cold and lonely, so she wonder if she should go back. And then, the strangest little creature. It is an obbygobulum. Sam has never heard obbygobulum but they made friends. Its name is obby. When came back flat, Sam thought that wasthe wildest adventure!

I wondered the lift that bring other world is find on near my house. I want to ride that very much.

Dear host family.Hello. My name is Saki. I am 19 years old and I live in Kumamoto, Japan. I like shopping and playing volleyball very much. I played volleyball for six years. I also like watching baseball game. I belong to baseball club, so I watch baseball game once a week. It is very exciting!

I am a lively person. I am always active and smiling. My appearance is average. I have dark brown and curly hair. I have average height but people sometimes said to me "You look tall more!" I sad to hear it.

I have 4 members in my family, my father, my mother and a younger brother. We always talk anything each other. We are all good family.

I am a KGU student. I want to be a grand stuff or flight attendant, so I study English everyday. I like to study English. When I stay in New Zealand, I want to progress my speaking and listening skills.

I have a part-time job. I work at a Soba restaurant. Do you know Soba? It made of buckwheat and it is a famous noodle in Japan. It is so delicious, so I hope that you eat it once.

By the way, I have some questions. First, how many people in your family do you have? Next, could you tell me about some famous places in your town? MY prefecture, Kumamoto, has Kumamoto castle. It is a famous castle in Japan and so beautiful. Mt. Aso is also a famous place. It is an active volcano. I want to know about your town’s famous places. Finally, what Japanese food do you like? I like Takoyaki, Sushi and Soba. Have you ever eaten them? Please tell me.

I have hopes and fears of staying in New Zealand but I am looking forward to seeing you very much. I want to come early in August. Please give my kindest regards to your family.

My university life

I am enjoying my university life because I have a lot of friends. When I entered KGU, I had misgivings about friends. I think I cannot make friends but I have a lot of cute and kind friends now! I like the times that I talk with my friends very much.

And, I like English when I was an elementary school student. I want to study English hard for a long time , so I am grad to study English hard now.

I like KGU and think that I enjoy my university life more from now on.

BR 1-05 The Princess and the Pea

I read “The Princess and the Pea”. Both prince and princess are so nice and cute. And I wanted to be a princess when I was child, so I chose it.

In summary of this book, a prince, Patrick is looking for his real princess. He searches for a real princess over the world. Then, he took with cousin, Fred and his maid, Peg. First of all, he visited to a witch and he asked her where the real princess is. The witch said that the princess is; politeness to one and all, kindness to rich and poor, very sensitive skin. She gave him a princess map and he left to find the princess. The first princess is Princess Prunella she was very excited to see the prince but she was not polite to everyone. The second princess is Princess Pavlova. But she was not kind to poor. Patrick gave up to finding a real princess. Then, a princess appeared. She is Primrose but she was not sensitive skin. The only girl who can be three things is Peg. She is polite to one and all, kind to everyone, and had sensitive skin. Patrick noticed that thing, and he married her. So he could marry his real princess.

I think a real prince is polite and kind. I think politeness and kindness is very important thing. I am not a princess but I want to be polite and kind person like a real princess. (244 words)

My other class

I like Speaking class . My Speaking class's teacher is Mr. Waterman. He is kind and interesting, so I like him and his class very much. Until now, We interviewed and reported about our relatives, friends, blood tipe and zodiac sign with our friends in that class. I think that I can developing my English conversation skill through that class. I want to speak English more fluently, so I work hard to speak English more in that class.

I also like The theory of intercultual communication class.

How I study English

I always try to do my homework .I don't have a lot of time because I have a part-time job and go to Washington Institute of Language. So this is the best I can do. I believe that they develop my English ability.

Also, I think that I start to study of TOEIC and examination of English. I want to TOEIC over 600 points and examination of English second grade. So I will study them every day.

Introduce my friend

I introduce one of my friends, Shiori. She is Kumamoto Gakuen University student. When we entered this university, we met each other.

Her appearance is cute and not so tall. She has brown and medium hair.

She is kind and helpful. When I have a trouble, she helps and worries about me. Also, she is always merry and laughing. I cheer up at her smile. On the other hand, she is neat. Her pencil case and file is lining beautifully.

Introduce my cousin

I have two cousins. Now, I introduce one of my cousins. Her name is Arisa and she is ten years old. She goes to Yuge elementary school that I went until seven years ago.

Her appearance is cute and small. And she has black and short hair. She is always wearing grasses.

Her personality is ironside. She practices swimming, gymnastic, and marathon hard, so she is good at sports. She won first prize in a marathon meeting many times. She is the pride and joy of me. And she is funny and talkative. So she often tells jokes and makes me laugh.

I love her very much so such. This picture is my two cousin and me.

Movie

I like watching movie. My favorite movie that I have watched before is “Happy Flight”. It is the story of airline. I want to be cabin attendant or grand staff, so the movie helped to me to know about the work at airport and plane. Also, heroine of the movie is cute and careless person. I want to cheer her, so I think that the movie is interesting.

In fact, I like watching movie in theater. However I have enough time to go to theater recently, so I want to go to theater. I have a lot of movie that I want to watch. For example, “Yomei1kagetunohanayome”, “GOEMON”, “Meitantei Konann ”. If I have enough time, I go to theater to watch movies. (123words)

I think Uno's blog is good because she write all the particulars of her life. For example, she writes about her trip, camp and what she ate that day. Her blog is interesting and easy to understand for me. And her pictures are so fun! Her happy communicates to me from her pictures. So I like her blog and think good! WritingI・II

In Writing I・II, Mr. Kellas taught us to many rules about English. First, when we write an essay, we have to make paragraphs. If we don’t make paragraphs, we are difficult to understand an essay. So, it is important thing to us. Second, we learn about preposition. Preposition has a lot of kind so I was surprised. Also, I learned about how to write a letter in English. We actually wrote and sent a letter each other. It was good experience for me.

I think that I improved writing skill thorough Writing I・II. I want to improve writing skill more in writing III! (107 words)

Food/eating habits

I like sweets very much. Especially, I love icecream and chocolate. However I have put on weight recentry, so I cut down the number of them I am eating.

I am Japanese and Japanese live on rice. But I don't like rice so much. If anything, I want to eat bread.

Also I work at soba restaurant so i like soba. It made of buckwheat and it is a famous noodle in Japan. I want to come eating soba to the restaurant where I work. (86words)

BR 1-04 The Contest

I read “The Contest” this week. This book’s picture is little serious, so I chose this book.

In summary this book, Arachne was a talented young spinner and weaver. She made the most wonderful fabrics and tapestries. But, she was proud and stubborn. Athena is the Greek goddess of arts and craft. Arachne think that her works is better than the Athena’s work. They have a contest. Arachine decided to weave a huge tapestry that would show the stories of gods and humans since the beginning of time. Athena, however, had decided on something quite different for her tapestry. Both works were good, so everyone couldn’t decide to winner. Arachne didn’t give up, so Athena was angry and turned Arachine into spider.

I think we shouldn’t have high pride and stubbornness. We should respect other people!

Two years ago...

I went to Kumamoto-Kita high school with my friend today because we went to looking panels for the athletic meeting gymnastic. Two years ago, we also made that almost everyday. I yearn for then very much. That panel was excellent and cool! I want to win the group that I belonged two years ago. (54words)

Trip to Aso

I went to Aso today. First, I went to Daikanbo. I could survey the beautiful view and breathed fresh air.

Next, I went to rose garden in “Hanaasobi”. There are many kind of roses. I knew that rose’s cradle is East Asia for the first time.

Finally, I went to Takamori Yusui Tunnel Park. There are “Water Pearl” which is moving grain of water. I was looking forward to look that, so I was happy then.

Golden Week plans

I will go to Aso on May 2. My plan, I go to Daikanbo first. I heard that I survey the beautiful view at Daikanbo, so I decide to go to there.

Next, I go to Takamori Yusui Tunnel. It is cool there and There is “Water Pearl”. I’m looking forward to look that very much.

On May 3 and 4, I have a part-time job all day long.

My hobby is shopping. I usually go to shopping to Youme town in Hikarinomori. I sometimes buy some clothes there. However, I have a little money, so I usually go window-shopping.

Also, I like driving a car. I got a driver’s license in last September. I don’t have my car, so I drive my mother’s car on a holiday. I really want my car now. (69words)

Music I like

I like music very much. My favorite singer is SMAP, Kumi Koda, aiko, and Miriya Kato. They are good singers and cool.

I like a song “Iindesuka” recentry. That song is sung Radwimps. My friends and I never fails to sing when we go to karaoke.

Especially, I have liked SMAP since I was nursery student. I have been to concert six times with my family and my mother’s friends. (70words)
