Learning Language is my life

I have been studying foreign language since I was an elementary school student. However I learn language when I was a child. The language is Japanese. Japanese is my mother tongue. I learned it through my life. Now I am a Kumamoto Gakuen University student and majoring English. I think English is common language all over the world. I want to communicate with a lot of foreigner. In addition, I am interested in foreign language and country. So I have been studying English until now. I am going to write about my learning language history.

When I was an elementary school student, I started to study English. I took private lessons and studied English there once a week. I learned English through talking, some games, and sings. It was very interesting for me to learn English. In addition, I took part in English camp that was organized the private English school. I communicated with native English speaker and they understood my spoken English. Then I felt grad and exciting. It was my most impressive experience. Since then I like English and decided to study English more. Also I learn to Japanese. At Japanese, I learn hiragana, katakana and kanji. My first learning of kanji is “一”. I especially like to learn kanji and it continued when I was a high school student. So I have second grade of examination of kanji.

Being a junior high school student, I started to study English in earnest. However I didn’t like to study grammar. I studied grammar very hard every day. As a result, I understood it. Once a week, I have an oral communication class by ALT. We learn English through some games and songs in the class. I was looking forward to taking the class every week. When I was a third grade, I took part in English recitation contest in Kumamoto. I practiced hard with my friends, my English teacher and ALT. But other people speak more fluently than I, so I was depressed and thought I want to speak in English more after the contest. It was good experience for me. At the high school, I study English hard sake of enter college. I wanted to specialize in English and communication in college.

In KGU, I take some English classes, writing, reading, listening and speaking when I was a freshman. These classes are useful for my English ability. In addition, I studied second foreign language, German. German looks like English grammar, so I was interested in it. German is used mainly in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium. I couldn’t take German class this year, so I am studying only English now. I want to take German class next year. And I want to challenge Korean and Chinese. Now I’m learning English more deep. For example, I’m learning to how to read English news paper, inter-cultural communication, American literature and so on. I can know English from various points of view. I really think that it was good to enter KGU.

In the future, I hope I can communicate with various foreign country people. Even now if I can speak more English fluently, I want to visit a lot of foreign countries and communicate with the local people. I especially want to visit America, Canada, Australia and so on. I visit to foreign country and want to make a lot of friends.

I think language is important to communicate with other people. If we don’t have language, we can’t talk, communicate, send e-mail and letters. However it is difficult for us to learn language. I think that it is important to continue learn language through our usually life. I want to study English more deeply and learn more foreign language.

Finally I hope I can communicate with various foreign country people in the future.

Essay 2-02a: Mickey Mouse

I love Disney characters very much. Especially I like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. I also like to go to Disneyland. I have been there twice. However I did not to know about Mickey Mouse and Disneyland. So I watched some websites about these in this time.

It was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together. Although, World War put those plans on hold. In 1953, he had the Stanford Research Institute conduct a survey for a 100-acre site, outside of Los Angeles. He needed space to build rivers, waterfalls, and mountains; he would have flying elephants and giant teacups; a fairy-tale castle, moon rockets, and a scenic railway; all inside a magic kingdom he called "Disneyland." Construction for Disneyland began on July 21, 1954, a meager 12 months before the park was scheduled to open. Opening day, was a day to remember. Six thousand invitations to the Grand Opening had been mailed. By mid-afternoon over 28,000 ticket holders were storming the Magic Kingdom. Most of the tickets were counterfeit. Walt Disney was 53 when he dedicated Disneyland Park. It was a memorable ceremony. I did not know these histories and I was surprised. I want to know more things about Disneyland.
