Essay 1-03b Lilo and Stitch

When I watched a movie, ”Lilo and Stitch”, I learned two importance things. One is about family relationship. And the other is about cultural traditions. I think these are very important things for us.

First, I will write about family relationship. In this movie, Lilo lives with her older sister, because her parents died in a traffic accident. Only two live in a house but a public officer tries to separate them. The reason is Lilo's sister does not have power to bring Lilo up. Certainly, their life is hard, but they are good sisters. Lilo’s sister strives to live with Lilo, so I think that Lilo's sister has family affection. As Lilo tells Stitch “Ohana is Important and never left behind.” “Ohana means family.” Lilo thinks that Stitch is a member of her family and Stitch also thinks so too. I think they have family relationship with each other.

I live with my family, so I could not notice valuable of my family until now. When I watched this movie, I could notice it. In my real life, I have a brother. I think if my parents died like Lilo’s parents, I will be able to strive to live with my brother like Lilo’s sister. And my parents and I are often quarreling but I like my parents.

Recently, I think increasing murder case of some people killed by their family member in Japan. For example, parents killed by their children. It is very sad things. Why does people killed each other in the family? I think that if all people have family affection like Lilo and Stitch decrease like this murder case.

Next is cultural tradition. We have a lot of cultures in our life. In this movie, I learned about Hawaii's cultural tradition. Hawaii's culture is dancing hula, Hawaiian music, etc. I am interested in these. I think that Hawaiian is proud of Hawaiian cultures.

Although Almost Hawaiians are proud of their cultural tradition, I can not say that I am proud of Japanese culture. However, we have good culture in Japan. For example, there is Otemoyan dancing in the summer festival in Kumamoto. And ennka have been to sing for a long time. We can hardly see these cultural tradition any other country. So we have to treasure of our culture.

”Lilo and Stitch” teach a lot of important things. In this movie, even children can understand the family relationship and the cultural tradition. So a lot of people watch this movie all over the world. Both family affection and traditional cultures are very important to live. So we have to treasure them.
